Here in America there is a huge debate that has been going on for quite a bit now. Some are against it, some are for it. To me, I see no issue with "socialized" medicine. I here people say that people in the UK and Canada HATE their healthcare...but when I talk to people online on the PS3 or here, they say they like it. Anyone from across the pond care to give their input?
Yeah I live in Houston. They have a huge medical center. I know the Children's Hospital is known world wide. When I go downtown with my son to the children's museum, theres always french and other European people there. They have a bus that takes them there for free for the kids. But yeah anyways...the insurance companies here completely screw over everyone here. For example, I have had my son, and my son's mom on my insurance for the last 3 years.
The first year I had to pay about $35 every two weeks with a $1,000.00 deductible, and a $2500.00 Out of pocket maximum.
The second year I had to pay $50 every two weeks with a $1250.00 deductible and $5000.00 out of pocket maximum.
Last year it went up to $74.10 every two weeks and a $2500.00 with a $10,000 out of pocket maximum. This year, if i was to keep it the same, I'll have to pay $238.00 every 2 weeks...thats $500 dollars a month roughly! If I want to pay close to that $74.10 still, my deductible goes up to $5,400 and a 10,000 out of pocket maximum. It's bullshit...

Also, in the state of Texas, its mandatory to have car insurance...which is a good thing of course, but its still government mandating people to do something...still can be considered socialism.
